It is now late in the month of October, and most of the foliage has changed and drifted its way to the ground. Although it is all still so pretty, many find the added yard work and cleanup a bother. I find the children’s voices and shuffling of feet through the leaves exciting and fun, so I don’t look negatively at work.
This is how I approach troubling and challenging things in many ways. Changing perspective and looking at a situation a different way often gives one a chance to pause and reflect, if not distract oneself from a negative feeling. There have been so many unusual feelings and happenings in the past few months, which helps the spirit and mind see more clearly when the reality is slightly altered to be more simple and nature-oriented.
Too many days pass when we do not see the bright side of a situation, or we feel less valued and more distressed than those in our circle. As the season changes, I strongly recommend taking time to look inside yourself and write a note articulating your value.
In a busy routine of daily life, it’s often easy to forget that you value playing the guitar or a particular CD, taking a nice Epson salt bath, or going for a massage. All these things might be part of the inner child and young person within your soul. This is the person you need to connect with and live with –both from the inside and in the outer world of your life. This is the person that when you connect with and help keep alive in your spirit, you find yourself smiling more, feeling happier and connected with those around you, and you sleep better. In fact, you probably take better care of yourself when you are connected to your inner soul mate.
It doesn’t take a lot to take time to reflect on your personhood. Then, taking a moment to see what you like and how you want to change something in your life might come naturally. It is important to be true to your essence and believe in yourself without needing an outsider to validate you. You are you. You are good as you are. If you want to be better, you can do this! If you need help, you can ask for assistance; if not, try to go forward and change on your own. Never discourage yourself from yourself.
Be at peace with the person you are. Be gentle and kind to yourself. Take time to connect with the world around you and appreciate the beauty of nature as it changes before us with each passing day. There is so much to be grateful for that it behooves all of us to look at the sky, feel the wind, and smile a moment for the gift of life abundant and around us all the time
Best for a spooky Halloween….
