I am sure everyone reading this is somewhat amazed that we are seven months into this year! So fast the days pass and so much happening in our global and local worlds.
The issue of climate change is more common in the news and is now an accepted concept, even though it seems to have taken some time to get there. The nonsensical violence that is happening all over our country and in parts of our global community is baffling. The overt expressions of prejudice demonstrated and captured in actions on the streets are negative and regressive. Yet, there are machines on Mars looking for the prospect of past life or the potential to live in space in the future for humans.
It seems that orderly chaos is occurring, changing our comfort zones, as we are headed for a new way of living humanely. Maybe, it is time to just stop to take a moment and realize where we are and what is happening. Most importantly, what is our role in all of this and how can we make difference towards positive changes in ourselves, our home, our communities, and our social milieu.
I would like to propose that we consider taking a moment each morning and breathing silently for 5 minutes without thoughts or action, but feeling ‘peace’ in our heart and mind. Sitting still with yourself in silence, following your breath, you will be able to start your day grounded and quiet. If you meditate for ten minutes, over the course of time, you will find that you are more attentive to listening to others, and will respond more intentionally than reacting without thinking.
Another proposal is to walk and live in the present moment. Our thoughts are often three or four steps ahead of where we are, planning, strategizing, and even debating, all cluttering up our minds. Walk and live in the present, to feel peace and where your energy is being stored in your body.
I welcome the idea of realizing we are each a critical element in changing the energy around us and thus the energy of the world. Thinking positive, hopeful, kindly, compassionate, and with gratitude, changes our energy field and gives us an opportunity to connect with others who may share or need such energy. Try it for a day. Be mindful for a day of how you think and change it towards the positive, giving yourself positive energy to interact and connect with others, and ultimately share and transform energy towards a higher good.
It is my hope that Universal positive energy is recognized by each of us. Moreso, that we use it towards connecting with others during this summer month, and gives us greater strength each day forward to be brave and kind to each other.
